1999 David Overton, Founder of The Cheesecake Factory Restaurants, creates and opens the first Grand Lux Cafe at The Venetian Resort, Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The restaurant, open 24 hours a day, is located on the casino floor and debuts as the company's newest concept. 2001 Los Angeles, CA becomes the site of the second Grand Lux Cafe, located at the famed Beverly Center on La Cienega Boulevard at West 3rd Street. 2002 After three years of operations, the third Grand Lux Cafe opens in Chicago, IL on Michigan Avenue. The largest restaurant in the company to date, the Chicago Grand Lux Cafe boasts second floor windows that overlook Michigan Avenue offering guests a spectacular view during any season. 2003 Grand Lux Cafe wins the prestigious "Hot Concepts" award from Nations Restaurant News. 2004 To continue the expansion of Grand Lux Cafe, two new restaurants have opened this year at Galleria Dallas in Dallas, TX and at Centre at Post Oak in Houston, TX.
